Halle Berry and her extensions

When Halle Berry, playing the role of Jinx, walked out of the sea in the James Bond film Die Another Day - recreating the scene originally made famous by Ursula Andress in Dr No - men the world over drooled. But that was just one scene in the fantastic movie career of Halle. She began her career as a beauty queen before turning to acting. She received a string of awards for Introducing Dorothy Dandridge and won an Academy Award in 2001 for her performance in Monster's Ball, becoming the first woman of African American descent to have won the award for Best Actress. Other films in which she starred included The Flintstones, Bulworth, Catwoman and the X Men trilogy.

Halle was a victim of domestic violence and now works to help other victims. She once said that her mother had impressed on her that even though she is half black and half white she would be discriminated against in America as a black person. "People will not know when they see you that you have a white mother unless you wear a sign on your forehead. And, even if they did, so many people believe that if you have an ounce of black blood in you then you are black. So, therefore, I decided to let folks categorize me however they needed to," she said.

Halle Berry always looks fantastic and like so many other black women loves and uses hair extensions to help project her image. Best quality hair extenions can be obtained from http://bestblackhairextensions.com/index.html

Rebecca Ferguson to win X Factor?

One of the favourites to win this year's X Factor is Rebecca Ferguson, a singer with a great voice who was been highly praised by all the judges. Rebecca is a single mother of two from a poor family in Liverpool who says she was bullied at school because she is mixed race. Today's she an inspiration to black women.
She comes across as soft and feminine but this hides a strong assertive side. She is very family orientated and her kids always come first. And she has raised herself above the racism that she suffered and made the most of her strong points - her fabulous voice, beauty and sexy body. She also knows how to change her looks by changing her hair and always looks immaculate.
Like many black women, Rebecca knows that beautiful hair extensions can make all the difference and that she can choose the style that works for her and suits her mood.

Proud to be a Black Woman

Once upon a time many black women were dubious about using hair extensions in case they were accused of trying to make themselves look white by having straight hair. But now that's all changed. Black women have always been adventurous and have tried different looks to help make themselves look good. They embrace their naturally tight curly hair because it gives them an advantage when it comes to changing their look. With hair extensions a black woman can choose the look she wants, whereas European women's hair is often too fine and needs glue. With more and more mixed race people being born, the trend will continue and black women are showing that they are proud to be who they are and what they are.
Just how much times have changed is illustrated by Chris Rock's film Good Hair, which examines the black hair industry in a humorous way but is also a serious look at this booming $9 billion industry. The film looks at beauty salons, barber shops, hair stying conventions and hair laboratories, as well as visiting the places where natural hair extensions actually come from. One of the celebrities taking part in the film is American actress, singer-songwriter, comedienne, dancer, television producer and model Raven-Symone (pictured) who always shows off her hair extensions to good effect.
Like her, any black woman can change her looks on a regular basis and decide what style works for her.
